President Lewis Lu, Secretary-General Phoebe Wan, and Deputy Secretary-General Chase Song from the Australia Chinese Energy & Resources Association (ACERA), together with our corporate member representative, Lujun Liu, General Manager, Technical at CNOOC Australia, were honoured to attend the 2026 Chinese New Year Gala with the Terracotta Warriors on Saturday 21 February 2026.

The event was hosted by WA Museum Boola Bardip, Australia China Business Council Western Australia, China Chamber of Commerce in Australia (Perth Branch), and the Foundation for the WA Museum, and welcomed over 600 distinguished guests from government, business, academia, and cultural institutions.

The evening marked a special farewell to the Terracotta Warriors exhibition while celebrating the Year of the Horse, highlighting China’s rich cultural heritage and the enduring friendship between Australia and China.

Distinguished attendees included the Chinese Ambassador to Australia, His Excellency Xiao Qian; the Chinese Consul General in Perth, Madam Fu Lihua; and the Premier of Western Australia, Hon Roger Cook MLA, reflecting strong support for Australia–China relations at both national and state levels.

We are proud to have represented ACERA at this memorable occasion. This landmark event marked a pioneering milestone in Australia–China cultural exchange. It also represented a first-of-its-kind collaboration with Western Australia, setting a new benchmark for cross-cultural engagement.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the organisers for their visionary leadership, openness, and broad global perspective in bringing this historic initiative to fruition. As an organisation firmly rooted in Australia, ACERA will continue to work closely with partners across sectors, pursuing innovation in both the form and substance of exchange and cooperation. Together, we remain committed to deepening mutual understanding and advancing sustainable, long-term collaboration between Australia and China.
